SPEECH/LANGUAGE EVALUATIONS

The purpose of a speech and language evaluation is to measure the child's communication skills.

If your child is using a limited number of words, short sentences or has difficulty understanding what others are saying or following simple directions a comprehensive receptive/expressive language evaluation will be administered.

If your child has difficulty pronouncing certain sounds, is hard to understand by unfamiliar listeners or gets frustrated when trying to communicate – an articulation evaluation will be administered to determine sound errors and the child’s current level of intelligibility.

A written report of all formal and informal assessments as well as the clinician’s recommendations will be given to the caregiver.
